The King of Sassonia and the Gosper Sepp
A very
special story
My great-grandfather,
Josef Messner, called
Gosper Sepp, has been a
legend in lifetime.
It
was his honor to be the
personal mountain guide
of the King of Sassonia,
Federico Augusto, at the
end of the last century.
The King was very popular with the local people and farmers, as he was considered to be a men of folk. A deep friendship has been developed between the king an my grandfather for more than ten years.
The famous hiking path Federico Augusto was named after the king.
On one of their hiking tours through the Dolomites, my great grandfather found a very precious diamont ring. The owner had never neen found.
The pictures show our grandfather with the King of Sassonia in the years 1904 to 1914.
