King "Federico Augusto path"
We
start our excursion at
Sella Pass and follow
the trail to the Col
Rodella.
From here we have an
exellent view on Mount
Sella, Pordoi and
Sassolungo and Marmolata.
The trail "Federico
Augusto" is namend by
the king of Sassonia,
which was guest at Siusi
in the years 1904 to
1914.
By taking the
easy Federico Augusto
path, one can
circumscribe the whole
perimeter of the
Sassolungo Group in
about 5 hours., learning
some of its secrets and
admiring the wide
panorama of the nearby
groups of the Dolomites:
Sella, Marmolata,
Catinaccio, Odle and
Puez.
From Sella Pass we reach
in about 2 hours the
Sassopiatto Hut and
descend to Saltria at
Alpe di Siusi.
