Adolf-Munkel-Trail
We
start our excursion at
"Zanser Alm" at the
end of the pitoresque
Val di Funes /
Villnösstal.
The trail numer 32 leads
through the magnificient
pinewoods just beneath
the Odle group. Odle is
the Ladin name for
needle.
Here is the beginning
of the famous "Adolf-Munkel-Trail",
which keep its name from
the german mountain
guide Adolf Munkel. We
can follow the trail and
admire the Odle
Mountains in their
slender shapes and their
many sharp edges and
needles.
The main and most coveted peaks are Sass Rigais and Furchetta, both 3025 m.
After about 2 hours of walk, we arrive at the Refuge Brogles.
From here there's another 1 1/2 hour to Ortisei / St. Ulrich, from where we can return by bus to Seis / Siusi.
